Back in Blackburn this weekend then, as previously mentioned, and a chance to take some "Garden Shed Leave" (it needs clearing, for some reason I need to present and take some holiday to do so)...
However, on arrival I was given a gift from Mother Asp, that she had requested from the Daily Mail. Feel the embarassment. However, it's one of these inventions that you never knew you wanted. I imagine the promotion went like this:
"There's two things that are classic about evenings in Britain in the winter months. Dark, and wet. What you need with you is an umbrella to keep dry, and a torch to light your way. But that means you need to use both hands. What if you need to carry something else as you walk? You need the unbrella with built in LED torch."
Yes, that's what I've got. Extremely gimmicky, a half-decent idea in theory, but it'll never be used to its full potential.
No doubt readers will remember the old "Innovations" catalogue with similar inventions. Lakeland Plastics also has some bizzare products. So, what's your favourite pointless contraption?
